Autism T-shirt
I created this t-shirt illustration to help raise awareness with The National Autistic Society for those with Autism, including Asperger Syndrome. It is a lifelong mental disability that affects how a person communicates with others and experiences the world. In a way they are just wired differently and something that a person without it understands or feels might not be the same as someone with it. Many describe it as a crazy world of a million thoughts at once and a bombardment of feelings that they don't know how to or want to show, a wish to be understood and accepted in a social world that is hard to be a part of. This is where my illustration came from, it is a combination of the many thoughts and the muddle of feelings one has, intertwined in a confusion of paths, graphs and symbols of comfort and fear. You might not understand it but did you try? Did you accept it as it is? Well, these are things that those on the Autistic Spectrum want and why I created it. Hopefully those who wear it will be asked about it and can pass on this message to help create a better and more understanding world for all.
